Heavyweight Coach

Duluth Missabe & Iron Range is a classic heavyweight coach from Minnesota's iron mining country, built in 1918. When acquired by MTM in 1983, it had been been in maintenance-of-way service. (Thus the red paint, "W30" number, covered-over windows, and missing interior.)

DM&IR 33 is stored for future restoration at Jackson Street. For a good idea of its original appearance, visit sister car 33 at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in Duluth, which still has its original interior.

Two other sister cars, 32 and 34, survive in modified condition on the Wisconsin Great Northern in Spooner, WI.
