Marine on St. Croix, 11am, 2:30pm
Weekends and holidays May 2 through October 25, 2009 During this 1.5 hour, 20-mile trip, experience the scenic beauty of the St. Croix River Valley. Watch for turkeys, deer and bald eagles, and enjoy Bridal Veil and Buttermilk Falls and the many other brooks and streams along the way. Board the train in Osceola, Wisconsin at the historic SOO Line depot, located at 114 Depot Road. Travel along the sandstone bluffs of the St. Croix River valley, cross over the Cedar Bend Draw Bridge, journey through William O’Brien State Park and on to Marine on the St. Croix, Minnesota. At Marine, the engine will do a run around and bring you back to Osceola. While onboard, visit the postal clerk in the mail car to learn how mail was caught “on the fly” and be sure to visit the concession car where you can purchase a railroad trinket, soda or snack.
Adults $17, Seniors $15 (62 and older), Children $8 (ages 5-15), Family $45 (two adults and two to four children under 16), Children 4 and under ride freewith paid adult but do need a boarding pass. Get tickets

The Dresser excursion train departs at 1:00 PM, weekends and holidays May 2nd through September 20th. This 50-minute round trip takes you from Osceola, Wisconsin to Dresser, Wisconsin. Board the train in Osceola at the historic SOO Line depot, located at 114 Depot Road. You’ll travel through rural Wisconsin passing communities, farms and homes. While onboard, visit the postal clerk in the mail car to learn how mail was caught “on the fly” and be sure to visit the concession car where you can purchase a railroad trinket, soda or snack. Once in Dresser, passengers are allowed some time to exit the train and stretch their legs while checking out the fully refurbished 1887 Dresser depot. You can almost imagine that the agent has just stepped out to meet your train.

William O'Brien Naturalist Trips: May 24, July 5, September 6
Enjoy a great get away weekend. Camp at William O’Brien State Park or drive in for the day. William O’Brien State Park is located 12 miles north of Stillwater, Minnesota on County Highway 95, near the town of Marine on the St. Croix. Join in some family fun aboard our classic train. After a 1-mile walk in the Park, a naturalist and a MTM train conductor will take you on a tour of the St. Croix Valley, where you’ll learn about the natural and cultural features of the valley and the early history of the railroading era. At Osceola, Wisconsin you can hop off the train to have lunch or shop the historic downtown area. If you stay on board, you can continue on to Dresser, Wisconsin. The train turns around at Dresser, makes another brief stop at Osceola, and then returns to William O’Brien State Park. Bring snacks or lunch if you plan to stay on the train, or you can visit the concession car where you can purchase a railroad trinket, soda or snacks.
Meet and leave at the William O’Brien Visitor Center by 10:45 AM on May 24th, July 5th and September 6th. The naturalist train returns to the park around 3:30 PM.

Pumpkin Express Train: October 16, 17, 18, 2009
Begin your fun filled event by riding on a 1950s classic bus that will pick you up from the remote parking locations in Osceola, Wisconsin. The bus will bring you to the Osceola Depot where you will board the train for a ride to the pumpkin patch and other fun filled fall activities. You will be traveling through rural Wisconsin passing communities, farms and homes. When the train arrives at the festival grounds in Dresser, Wisconsin, passengers exit to enjoy pump car rides, games, wagon rides, face painting. Don’t forget to check out the haunted depot! Food (such as hamburgers, hot dogs, etc) will be available on the festival grounds. This is always a sell out so make your reservations early. Wear a costume and see if you’re as scary as the ghouls in the haunted depot!
The pumpkin train departs at 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM on October 16th, 17th and 18th. You do not have to take your same train back to the station in Osceola; the last pumpkin train will depart for Osceola at 4:00 PM each day.
This is always a sell out so make your reservations early.
A free pumpkin will be available for all children 15 and under.
Event will be held rain or shine, dress for outdoor weather – wear a costume!

During fall leaf season, pumpkin trains, and some special events, tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis. Trains generally sell out in the autumn.

The Minnesota Transportation Museum's goal is to preserve and educate the public about the surface transportation history of Minnesota and the Upper Midwest.
